Dear Future Me (2017) - When I Grow Up
Dear Future Me (2017) - When I Grow Up This is the sixth time Ive written a Dear Future Me letter. You can read the others here and here and here and here and here, and the idea behind the Dear Future Me letter from the amazeballs woman I stole it from (hi Jess Lively!) right here. Like past years, I decided to keep some things privatebut this is about 75% of the letter below. January 1, 2018 Dear Future Me, Spoiler Alert: You both survived thrived this year. Drumpf did not blow up the world in his first year in office. Yes, he did some damage, but not as much as was feared. We rose up as a country whose majority is set and determined to preserve our progress and human rights, and that made a big difference along the way. You did not sit idly by. You continued your monthly donations to Planned Parenthood the ACLU. You were active with the local grassroots org and are very much used to making calls and having conversations that speak to your beliefs. Ramona is learning by example that its important to give back and support the civil liberties of all people. The main thing the only thing that matters, though, is your health and the health of your family. Thankfully, 2017 blessed us all, and there are no major ailments to report. You ran the NYC Half in March without a problem, and then ran another in the fall. It feels good to be strong, and youve stuck with exercising 4-5 times each week even when youre not training. Youre super proud of the $20K your team raised for the Avon Walk this year, and it was so emotional to pass the 6-figure mark with your team for year 6. The team thrived this year with its new members, and you cant imagine not doing it again year after year. You took your word of 2017, Be, and went exploring. What surfaced was a sense of calm, trust and abundance that youve never experienced before so deeply and truly, and for so long. You no longer jam your schedule, believing it was the only way to make money and be successful. Youre present, listening to your body and making decisions based on your intuitions and the flash of insights youre getting. It led to making almost $50K more in your business this year than in the last, without spending more proportionately or working more hours. Its led to you being kind and forgiving, both to yourself and others, more than youve ever had before. And now, you are living your best life. Its not perfect by any means, but thats the point. Perfection and over-over-achievement is no longer the goal. The things you still want a trip to Europe next year, the whole house to be magically updated, a clean organized home 24/7 are things you still wantbut life is still The Best now, in this moment, wherever you are and whoever youre withbecause thats where, who, how and what you choose to Be. Look forward to this year ahead, Michelle, and all the delights to come. Love, Current Michelle P.S. Your hair looks great. P.P.S. Pare down your closet and have that garage sale. Clearing out what no longer serves you makes a difference in your Be-ing.
